Continuing our series of  masterclasses, “Queen of Couture Cakes” Mich Turner MBE held our guests spellbound by demonstrating her wonderful cakes and recounting tales of elaborate and daring creations for her A-List clientele, at an exclusive event in our Notting Hill showroom.

With the sweet smell of baking filling the air Mich put the kitchens and appliances through their paces as guests learnt expert tips and the skills needed to create a delicious lime and pistachio roulade, ultimate chocolate torte and blueberry & orange friandes.

Champagne is the perfect pairing with cake and David Hesketh, Managing Director, of Laurent-Perrier champagne hosted a fascinating comparative tasting of NV Brut and Ultra Brut wines before serving a Demi-Sec champagne to accompany the three cakes.

Another great pairing is bone china and cake. Naturally, we asked William Edwards, with whom we have a close relationship as we both champion British craftsmanship and manufacturing, to provide the chinaware from their new off the peg collection.
