Martin Moore Wins "Best Bespoke Kitchen Maker" Award
Martin Moore is delighted to have won the "Best Bespoke Kitchen Maker" Award at the 2018 Essential Kitchen & Bathroom Business Awards.
On 29th November 2018, professionals from all corners of the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom industry attended a prestigious awards ceremony at The Brewery in London to mark the end of a successful and notable year. Awards were presented to the best of the best, as selected by a distinguished panel of experts.
Martin Moore surpassed the other shortlisted companies in this highly prized category for our body of work of the past year including our new Muswell Hill showroom, which the panel said was consistently of the very highest standard, and also for our kitchen for a Grade II* Listed 14th Century Cloth Hall in Kent as it combines a high-function kitchen with heritage materials and craftsmanship.
The kitchen is housed in a soaring oak-timbered extension, the subject of lengthy debate with planners and Historic England. Determinedly modern in function and aesthetics, it's an exciting contrast to the mediaeval building, whilst at the same time honouring its heritage. To carry through the hallmark style of the building, classic natural oak was a must for much of the cabinetry, but it was given a contemporary edge with gleaming chrome door inlays and handles. Hand painted cabinets and an industrial-style bank of Gaggenau and Sub-Zero stainless steel appliances also act as visual counterweights to the timber, keeping the mood modern.
Design details include characterful "wild quartz" worktops, quirky marble chandeliers and carbon-fibre bar stools; all traditional in concept but entirely modern in their realisation.
