Martin Moore Shortlisted for the 2026 International Design & Architecture Awards

We are delighted to share that Martin Moore has been shortlisted for the 2026 International Design & Architecture Awards, with our Elegant Entertaining Kitchen recognised among the finest residential design projects in the world.

Neutral kitchen, award shortlisted

Set within a private woodland estate in Surrey, this bespoke kitchen was designed from the outset to be two things at once: a generous, hardworking family kitchen and a genuinely glamorous space for entertaining on a grand scale. That dual ambition shaped every decision we made, from the placement of the Lacanche Belmont range cooker at the heart of the room to the creation of a dedicated cocktail bar with its own island, designed to make drinks service as effortless as it is elegant.

A Design Rooted in Craft and Natural Materials

The project draws on our New Deco collection, inspired by the architects and craftsmen of the 1930s. Clean geometric lines meet richly decorative materials: hand-painted cabinetry paired with pale Taj Mahal quartzite in the kitchen, and a fluted dark walnut island topped with dramatic Cosmic Black granite in the bar. Aged bronze handles, antique bronze mirrored glass shelving, and cabinet interiors lined with dark walnut bring warmth, depth, and a quietly tactile quality to every surface. This is a kitchen designed to be touched as much as admired.

Throughout, the brief was to use natural materials that would not only look beautiful on day one, but would age and deepen with character over time. Timber, stone, bronze, leather and glass work in harmony, their muted tones calm against the bolder colours of the adjoining rooms and the terrace and pool beyond. One entire side of the kitchen opens onto the outside, dissolving the boundary between interior and landscape in a way that feels entirely natural.

Built by Hand, Designed for Life

Every element of this kitchen was handmade in our workshops by skilled craftsmen using traditional techniques. Timbers are hand-selected for grain and figure. Cabinetry is hand painted on site, drawn from a limitless colour palette mixed specifically for each client. The oversized island houses an array of pull-out storage alongside a custom open china store, requested by the client to make moving between the kitchen and dining table seamless.

The International Design & Architecture Awards are judged not by a panel, but by peers, suppliers and customers within the industry. That makes this recognition particularly meaningful to us. It reflects the standard of work our craftsmen, designers and client teams deliver day after day, and the relationships we build with the clients who trust us with the heart of their homes.

We are honoured to be shortlisted and proud of the team behind this project.
